A stunning, elevated micro wedding styled shoot in Tillamook, Oregon by Immersed Education
It’s about time I finally share the trip I experienced at one of Immersed Education’s Workshop’s in Oregon!!
This workshop was something I wanted to do the moment it was announced. I set a date in my calendar to purchase a ticket as soon as it went live. I hovered over my laptop, refreshing until they were released, and bought my ticket within the first minute.
Why? Because my absolute favourite photographer and huge inspiration, Anni Graham, was going to be teaching us all about her approach to photography and storytelling. Not only that, but Benj Haisch was going to be teaching us about shooting film, and Mae & Co was going to be working their magic on all the pretty details. It felt so intuitively right for me.
I’ve been in love with Anni’s work for years, and being able to learn from her was a dream come true, borderline invaluable. As soon as we arrived at River Cabaan in Tillamook, Oregon, it was such a warm, comforting and relaxing environment to be in. As a quiet/introverted person, it meant so much to me to see another photographer who simply showed up as themselves – not the expected bubbly, high energy or performative photographer we see online. Instead, a sincere, thoughtful, inquisitive and kind person who cares so much more about photography than just clicking a button on a camera.
We had an hour long hangout/presentation with Benj and gained so much insight on film photography. He showed us how film can be so forgiving, and I loved his passion and story behind it. Benj if you’re reading this, my wrists are killing me from using the 28-70mm lens LOL.
