This retro and colorful styled shoot at Quay Studio in Ottawa is sure to give inspiration for your wedding or elopement.
At the beginning of this wedding season, I spent the afternoon at Quay Studio in Ottawa for a styled elopement shoot organized by one of my favs, Rosielle+Co. I’m super lucky to be a part of Rosie’s photography team and associate shoot for her incredible clients. This afternoon was something organized for us to get creative, talk all about how to best serve our clients, and shoot this beautiful design.
I practiced some flat lay designs, and if you’re unsure what a flat lay is; it’s essentially all of your stationary and finer details layed out or displayed. I love capturing these details because:
1. I’m a Virgo, I love anything to do with detail.
2. It set’s the tone for your story – what little things are important to you? What did people receive when they were invited to your wedding? What colours represented your day?
Courtney and Cory were our models for the day, although they are a real couple! They were super sweet and fun to work with. I loved Courtney’s reaction to popping the champagne – it’s so hard for me to not flinch when those things pop, even as the photographer standing 10 feet away!
I’m obsessed with the all of the colour in contrast to the white walls at Quay Studio. The champagne tower.. let’s talk about champagne towers. Do you love em or hate them? I seriously love them. I’m not much of a champagne person, but if it was being popped such a fun way, yeah I’d grab a glass!
