A Dreamy Editorial at Cruickston Park | Wedding Inspiration

Cruickston Park is one of those venues that feels like stepping into a hidden world. It’s a historical site that’s been restored to the perfect balance of warm, rustic charm and modern elegance. Cruickston is a dreamy space for couples who love the European countryside and have an appreciation for design, art and history.

The ceremony setup for this editorial was a total dream: Liz and Sadie were surrounded by vibrant blooms in different shades of pink, by Forever Wild Field. The biggest blooms I’ve ever seen! Liz wore a romantic lace gown with stunning sleeves and bow detail, while Sadie wore a strapless gown with the most romantic veil by Blair Nadeau Bridal. Both gowns were from White Toronto.

Shooting on both film and digital created images that feel like this editorial took place centuries ago, and I can’t get enough of it! Film never fails to make a moment feel that much more romantic and tangible.

Inside, the reception table designed by Vivian was beneath the chandelier, draped magically in blush fabric, candles and florals. The black-and-white checkered floor is a highlight when you come to Cruickston, every corner feeling like you’re in an art museum or European castle. The best part was gathering at the end of the day to have a candlelit dinner here, catered by Richmond Station, which was delicious!

As a hybrid digital and film Ottawa wedding photographer, I’m always searching for soft light, texture and romance – and Cruickston Park has all that and more. The collection of antiques and art along with catching glimpses of the garden, rolling hills and architecture will no doubt leave you feeling inspired and wanting to create.

Cruickston Park is perfect for couples who dream of a refined and memorable experience, all while being surround by nature and the charm of farm life. Who doesn’t love sprawling hills (feeling like you’re in Pride and Prejudice), celebrating amongst art and getting away from the hustle and bustle while still being close by.
