Mike & Erin’s Fall Session in Banff, Alberta

An Epic Day in Banff National Park with Mike & Erin

One of my sweet high school friends, Erin, got engaged almost two years ago by The Three Sisters in Kananaskis, Alberta.

They planned a wedding across the country, in the midst of a pandemic, and said “I do” at Lago Bar and Grill in Ottawa. It’s so surreal watching your friends get married and go through big milestones. I was one of Erin’s bridesmaids and being a part of their wedding day was one of the best days I’ll ever experience.

Since the mountains are so important to them and their love story, they flew me out to Calgary a couple weeks later to spend the weekend and have an epic day in Banff National Park.

We started off casual at Barrier Lake, The Three Sisters and made our way to Banff town. We of course had to bring their sweet pup, Finn as he goes on all of their hiking adventures!

Being the first week of October, we weren’t sure what weather to expect or how fast it might change. We still got to see some of the remaining larches that turn yellow in the fall, but the colors were still so beautiful this time of year. The dried grasses are a dreammm.

Although it was the weekend, these locations were pretty quiet and we didn’t see many people. Once we got to Banff town for lunch, it was definitely picking up! We ate lunch on the patio and I made sure to get some souvenirs.

In the afternoon we switched to their bridal attire and captured some epic photos – you can see them here.

If you’re engaged and looking to have your session in the mountains, count me in! I absolutely love shooting immersed in nature and travel all over Canada to document love stories. Let’s create an epic adventure experience!
