Leah & Sean’s Engagement Session in Chelsea, Quebec

A fall engagement session captured on film in Chelsea, Quebec.

We all know one of the perks of living in Ottawa is being so close to the vastly different landscapes across the river in Quebec. There’s so many beautiful locations in Ottawa, but if you’re into rolling hills, mountains (not quite Banff size) and being immersed in nature – Quebec is wonderful.

We spent the last hours of daylight at this location in Chelsea, Quebec for Leah & Sean’s engagement session. October weather can be tricky – sometimes it snows, or like recent years, it’s practically a summers day. This day in October was one of those summery days, which was beautiful.

After having just come back from the highlands of Scotland, these rolling hills were reminding me of it fondly. So if you wish you could travel to Scotland, try Quebec first! Though anywhere on the east coast is similar as well.

Leah and Sean met in high school and have been together since – over 10 years! I was lucky enough to grow up in the same town as them and witness their quiet love, and I’m so excited to capture their wedding this June! It’ll be another beautiful full circle moment.

Film can be added to any session, which is my favourite because it has such a nostalgic and special way of capturing memories. As always, I used my Canon EOS 1V (35mm film) and Fujifilm GA645 (120mm film).  All Things Film is my go to for film scanning, be sure to check them out!
