A Dreamy Couples Session on Film at Lakeside Beach in Prince Edward Island
Summers are best spent by the water – lakes, rivers, or if you’re lucky enough, the ocean. Canada is full of beautiful landscapes and Prince Edward Island is full of them.
We met at Lakeside beach near Charlottetown, PEI to capture this couples session, soaking up the last bits of summer. The water was SO warm, it was incredible to run and play in the waves. Pairing a session like this with a beach bonfire after would be the perfect date night. But if you’re a PEI local, you know this already!
This couples session at Lakeside beach was captured on digital and film. I used my Canon R6, Canon EOS 1V, and Fujifilm GA645. The Fujifilm GA645 has a built in flash that added a stunning nostalgic and editorial vibe to the film photos. I can’t help but feel the vibes from Taylor Swifts 1989 album and cover, which I’m obsessed with. Nothing beats the color palette of the beach and ocean.
A question I often get asked is, “when is the best time for our engagement session?”. It depends on what your preferences are; time of year (season), location (woods, beach, city) and if you’re planning on using photos for your save the dates or invites. Gathering inspo on Pinterest can help narrow down what you like.
If you’re getting married in a destination, you can absolutely have a session a few days or the day before your wedding, as traveling for sessions isn’t the most cost or time efficient, but still doable. There are no rules for when to take photos, we’re here to capture memories!
If you’re getting married in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia or anywhere else in Canada, I’m now booking weddings for 2026 and would love to hear what you’re planning! You can find more information on what I offer here.
