A colourful disco inspired styled shoot at Junto Studio in Toronto
I spent another weekend in Toronto at the super epic Junto Studio for a styled shoot hosted by my old college classmate Courtney Marie Imaging! I’ve been dying to photograph a shoot with lots of color and vintage vibes and Junto Studio was the perfect place, seriously.
The studio is filled with fun thrifted items like rotary phones, colourful velvet couches, neon signs and vintage frames. It’s a large studio space that you can use for micro weddings and all kinds of events. I highly recommend checking them out!
There were two looks for the styled shoot; Kira rocked a pearl gown from Sash and Bustle and a stunning short silk dress with white boots. She also had a pink denim jacket from Something Blue Denim Co. – so cute! Her and Matt are getting married this year and I am so excited for them! They’re the kindest souls with the cutest pups.
The color palette was obviously very retro with deep oranges, pinks, yellows and reds which match the vibes of Junto Studio effortlessly. Flower Treasures killed it with the florals and hanging pieces, the streamers are perfect for tying in the fun vibes.
I shot half of this shoot on 35mm film using Portra 400 switching between my 50mm 1.2 and 35mm lenses, and it turned out really great considering the lower ISO for indoors! I get my film scanned from GPC Labworks in Ottawa and purchase my film from Annex Photo or at a local camera store.
This styled shoot is such great inspiration for any event, especially if you want a unique and retro style! These are all of the talented vendors from the shoot:
