Rebekah & Wade’s Fall Engagement Session in Wakefield

A fall engagement session in the small town of Wakefield + 35mm Film

October might be the best time of year for an afternoon in the Gatineau Park area. With this park being so close to Ottawa and having all kinds of terrain to explore, it’s one of my favs for photoshoots, camping, the spa, and scenic road trips.

The real gem is the cute, quiet town of Wakefield, Quebec. It has a stunning view of the river and almost makes it hard to believe we’re so close to the Ottawa valley (which can sometimes get a bit boring).

I met Rebekah and Wade at one of the many trails just off the side of the highway and we got the last bits of fall colours to enjoy. This was Mid-October, so if you’re looking for even more color, head to Gatineau within the first week of October!

I also brought along my Canon AE-1, which is a 35mm film camera. I’ve been shooting on film for 6 months and have loved the challenge, trial and error, and the experience of waiting to have it scanned to see how they turned out.

As the sun was getting lower, we drove less than 10 minutes to the town of Wakefield and enjoyed the views of the river and rolling hills close to the train tracks and general store. This location is one that looks even better during a rainy day or misty morning. Another perk is that there is barely anyone around! So if you’re shy about PDA, you’ll be golden.

These are some of my favourite photos, and I loved spending time with Rebekah and Wade. They were so sweet.

If you’re looking to explore more of this area for your engagement session or elopement, let’s connect! My books are now open for 2023+2024 and I would love to hear more about what you’re planning.
