Mike & Erin’s Golden Hour Photo’s at Nose Hill Park in Calgary, Alberta
Part three of my weekend in Calgary, Alberta ended with a golden sunset at Nose Hill Park. It’s a beautiful hilly park with a view of the city and the rocky mountains.
If you haven’t seen my other two blog posts from the previous day in Banff National Park (couples session and bridal session) Mike and Erin got married in Ottawa with friends and family, but wanted photos in their favourite place(s)! This is something couples can do if they have a traditional wedding or elopement and dream of different locations/ideas for their photos. You can put your wedding attire on and organize a shoot before or after your wedding day, you make your own rules and traditions!
We had so much space to ourselves since Nose Hill park is huge(!), and it was amazing! I had my little speaker playing music and we took our time getting around the park. Something Erin and Mike wanted to do at their wedding with the wedding party was spray champagne, but it had gotten left behind. So we went to Walmart and grabbed some sparkling wine and popped that, it was hilarious!
I like to start my sessions two hours before sunset so we have lots of time to get loosened up, change outfits and walk between locations. One thing to note about Nose Hill if you’re a photographer is that there aren’t many trees, so you won’t be able to find any shade to avoid shooting in full sun.
This session was such a blast and I would love to capture more love stories in Alberta and across Canada. If you’re recently engaged or married, let’s connect! Your story is worth telling.
